West Brom captain Darren Fletcher has agreed to join Stoke City.
The midfielder is out of contract at the Hawthorns and has turned down the offer of a new deal to sign for the Baggies’ Premier League rivals.
It is understood Fletcher will pen a two-year contract with Mark Hughes’ side.
The Scotland international joined West Brom on a free transfer in February 2015 after 12 years with Manchester United.
He has started every Premier League match for the club since his arrival – 91 in total – and helped them achieve a tenth-place finish this season.
His loss will come as a big blow to West Brom boss Tony Pulis’ plans for next season.
Pulis recently praised the 33-year-old as a great influence on his teammates, and made it clear he wanted his skipper to stay.
